Glymur Waterfall Elopement

Jess and Tim's Resilient Elopement: From Þórufoss Vows to Glymur's Heights

Glymur, standing at 198 meters, is Iceland's second-highest waterfall. The hike to its summit is challenging yet breathtaking. When Jess and Tim shared their plan to elope here and celebrate with a whiskey toast at the peak, I was thrilled.

On their wedding day, we faced heavy rain and strong winds. At the last minute, we relocated the ceremony to Þórufoss. As Jess and Tim exchanged vows, the downpour intensified, obscuring my camera's view. Despite the conditions, my equipment remained reliable.

Collaborating with officiant Tryggvi Gunnarsson from the humanist organization and photographers Styrmir Kári & Heiðdís was, as always, a pleasure.

Finally, we reached Glymur. The wind was still fierce. While capturing the opening scene with my drone, my hands trembled—not from fear of losing the drone, but from the desire to capture the perfect shot.

All footage was captured on the wedding day, accompanied by Tryggvi Gunnarsson's speech from the ceremony.
