Caroline and Daniel's winter elopement in Iceland was a remarkable two-day adventure, blending intimate moments with breathtaking landscapes.
Day One: Ice Cave Wedding at Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier
On the first day, accompanied by a professional guide, photographer, and myself as their Iceland wedding videographer, the couple embarked on a glacier hike on Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Vatnajökull in Vatnajökull National Park. Deep within an ice cave, they exchanged heartfelt vows, creating an unforgettable ice cave wedding experience. The journey required them to ice climb in their wedding attire, showcasing their adventurous spirit. Following the ceremony, we captured stunning footage near Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, with its serene icebergs, and at Diamond Beach, where glistening ice fragments adorn the black sands.
Day Two: Black Sand Beach Ceremony with Family
The following day, Caroline and Daniel prepared at Hotel Kría in Vík. They then proceeded to Víkurfjara Beach, located opposite the renowned Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Here, with dramatic rock formations as their backdrop, they held a pagan ceremony on the black sands, surrounded by their loved ones.
