Tálknafjörður - Wedding in Westfjords of Iceland

Stefania nad Jói’s Boho Wedding in the middle of nowhere in Westfjords

Capturing the wedding of Stefania and Jói in the serene Westfjords of Iceland was a truly special experience. This region, known for its breathtaking beauty and seclusion, provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate celebration.

The day began in Tálknafjörður, a charming village nestled between Patreksfjörður and Bíldudalur. Stefania and Jói prepared for their nuptials in an old family house that once belonged to Stefania's grandmother, adding a layer of personal history to the occasion. Their first look took place on a nearby beach, setting a romantic tone for the day.

We then explored some of the Westfjords' hidden gems. Our first stop was Pollurinn, a natural hot spring located just outside Tálknafjörður. Nestled by a mountainside, Pollurinn offers a tranquil setting with warm waters and beautiful surroundings, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Next, we visited one of Iceland's rare white sand beaches. Unlike the more common black sand beaches formed from volcanic ash, this unique spot provided a striking contrast to the typical Icelandic coastline, offering a serene and picturesque setting for photos.

The ceremony was held in the backyard of the old family house, where Stefania and Jói exchanged vows surrounded by close family and friends. The celebration continued in a nearby small house, where the couple and their guests danced and enjoyed live music performed by their talented friends.

The Westfjords are a hidden treasure in Iceland. Their remote location ensures unparalleled privacy and freedom, making them an ideal choice for couples seeking a unique and intimate wedding experience. The absence of tourists allows for a truly personal connection with the stunning natural surroundings.

As a wedding videographer, capturing Stefania and Jói's special day in such a secluded and beautiful part of Iceland was an unforgettable experience. The Westfjords' untouched landscapes and tranquil atmosphere provided the perfect canvas for their love story.
